Face to face appointment hub offer to be introduced to Oadby & Wigston town centres

Oadby & Wigston Borough Council (OWBC) customers will soon be able to request face to face appointments in either Oadby, Wigston or South Wigston.
The opportunity to book appointments comes as the council looks to enhance its customer service offer after listening to residents that completed a customer experience consultation at the end of 2022.
One of the key findings was that while the majority of customers prefer to contact the council by phone, email or by using the website, there is still a need to meet some customers face to face.
From Monday 5 June, customers will be able to book appointments by telephone and then attend their allotted slot at the following locations:
- Elliott Hall, South Wigston on Tuesdays between 9am and 12pm
- Trinity Methodist Church, Oadby on Wednesdays between 10am and 1pm
- King's Centre, Wigston on Thursdays between 1pm and 4pm.
Cllr Samia Haq, Leader of OWBC, said: "We've listened closely to the feedback we received from our recent consultation and feel it's essential that we offer local face to face appointments at locations that suit our customers.
"The majority told us they prefer digital methods of contact, and we continue to strongly encourage that – using our website, emailing us or giving us a call is often the quickest and easiest method of resolving a query.
"However, there are many exceptions and it is for those people that we want to be available face to face if needed. We will be monitoring usage closely and are delighted to have the hubs up and running ahead of our office move to Brocks Hill Country Park."
Visitors to the council's appointment hubs must have a pre-booked appointment. These can be made by calling the council's customer service team on 0116 2888961.
OWBC is due to downsize its council offices next month, moving from Bushloe House in Wigston to Brocks Hill Country Park in Oadby. The move is designed to save money, improve green credentials and also support the council's agile working policy.
The new offices will have a small reception point where people can make basic enquiries, hand in forms and make future appointments for more complex issues.
