Three spooky trails are coming to Oadby & Wigston this half-term – and there's a chance to win a Halloween prize pack!
From Monday 16 October, families can pick up a creepy clue map from South Wigston Library on Bassett Street, Wigston Library on Bull Head Street or Oadby Library on The Parade and then explore the town centre trail to find the hidden characters in the shop windows.
Each trail is made up of ten shops, which when participants find they need to pop in to and collect a pumpkin sticker to complete their map. Once all the stickers have been collected players can return to the library to claim their prize.
The trails run until Sunday 22 October and have been organised by Oadby & Wigston Borough Council (OWBC), and are funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Councillor Lee Bentley, Deputy Leader of OWBC, said "Amidst the cost of living crisis it's great to be providing a fun and free activity for families to get involved with over the school holiday.
"These trails also provide an excellent opportunity to have a day out in our town centres, and I hope people will be encouraged to visit and explore different shops along their local high street.
"We have a rich variety of businesses across our towns just waiting to be discovered, and hopefully the increased footfall these trails will provide will offer them a valuable boost."
